This fall, I plan to attend Wartburg College and major in Economics and Music. During my time at Wartburg, one of my aspirations is to spend a semester abroad to study music composition in Europe and be able to learn from experienced classical musicians and composers. Eventually, I would like to compose original music and contribute my works to the classical canon.
I am most proud of how hard I worked to advance and improve my Horn skills which enabled me to try out for and be accepted into and perform with the Naperville Youth Symphony Orchestra from my sophomore through Senior year.
Out of all my teachers, my Algebra 2 teacher, Mr. Eric Woyna, inspired me most during my time at Lisle. I appreciated his patience, mentorship, and his passion for teaching. He also took the time to talk to me about the importance of organization, time management and planning. I will carry these lessons forward with me as I get ready to start college in the fall.
I want to tell the alumni that I was so proud to be the recipient of the Steve Green Musical Achievement Scholarship. Music has been such an important part of my life since I was very young and the recognition and acknowledgement of all my passion and hard work by the Alumni was so meaningful to me. This scholarship will be incredibly helpful in funding my first study abroad during my freshman year as I tour eleven European countries with the Wartburg Wind Ensemble in May 2022. It will be an unforgettable experience as I will also get to tour with my sister, Eva Schoell, who was the 2019 scholarship winner.
Thank you so much for providing this award, I will forever be grateful for the opportunities and experiences that LHS provided to me during my time here.
