The Lisle Alumni Carlin Nalley Foundation recognize the outstanding contributions of Rob Taylor.10/27/2022 The Lisle Alumni Carlin Nalley Foundation would like to recognize the outstanding contributions of Rob Taylor, Class of 1989. He has resigned from the Board of Directors with our, most profound respect and gratitude following a distinguished fourteen-year tenure as a Director and Secretary of the Foundation. Rob served as an effective and dedicated leader since joining the Foundation in 2008. As an officer and educator, he has provided drive and direction toward our mission of expanding our scholarship program for Lisle students by a factor of ten over the last decade. He was the designer of the Ralph King Career and Technology Education Award, which recognizes and supports the post-secondary education of an exceptional student in this field. Rob speaks with great pride about this unique award and the importance for our board and the school to advocate for these deserving but generally underrepresented students with this profound opportunity. Rob has also been innovative in creating meaningful and memorable alumni events. He hosted our first Partners Recognition Dinners and created new activities to reach a broader swath of the Lisle Alumni from all graduating years by appealing to their overall interests. He and Marcy have also generously opened their home to host our annual Board of Directors meetings and the first gathering of the Lisle Alumni Ambassadors in 2020. Rob Taylor designed the Carlin Nalley Foundation pins used to recognize our members and partners. The pins are displayed proudly at all our alumni events. Rob’s signature accomplishment occurred on September 12, 2020, when his goal of creating a Carlin Nalley Day and renaming School Street in downtown Lisle after our great educational leader was completed. Rob was the driving force behind this movement to recognize Coach Nalley, the most outstanding leader in the history of Lisle.
As a resident and active citizen, Rob remains a force for good in the Village of Lisle, embracing the cause of improving all aspects of life in his beloved hometown. Thank you, Rob, for your dedicated service and commitment to our ongoing mission for Lisle High School. With Deep Gratitude for Your Leadership Lisle Alumni Carlin Nalley Foundation Board of Directors, October 27, 2022 To enhance the connection experience amid the large turnout and expansive Hyatt floorplan, we’re setting up good old-fashioned Homerooms. Partygoers will be directed to their homeroom upon check-in.
Arranged by decades, one large space will be home to the classes of ’59-’79. The 1980s will have a room, so will the 90’s, and one for ’00-plus. Near each doorway will be a large board where attendees will be listed and can check in. Serving as a home base for the entire night, each Homeroom will be a great place to check back, see who’s around, see who’s checked-in, and leave a note. And don’t forget the Teachers’ Lounge. That’s where retired and current faculty and staff can hang out to connect with their students from the past. Of course, you’re free to roam, just consider these spaces as your home base to regroup and connect. In May of 2022 we lost the legendary coach, administrator, Park District pillar, Lisle icon, Foundation namesake, and multiple Hall of Famer, Carlin Nalley. A whole lot of people around the state and nation in athletic and education circles know of Lisle, Illinois and LHS as the home of Carlin Nalley.
At “Together Again” we will honor Coach with an area in the “Teachers’ Lounge” with some memorabilia and scrapbooks, and a toast in the main ballroom when the DJ fires things up at 9:30. Coach’s family of LHS alums; Karla, John, and Alan, plus Mrs. Nancy Nalley will all be at “Together Again”. Coach loved the all-years reunion concept and the four he attended. No question he’ll be there on October 15 in spirit. The Street Sweepers Trio will "play to the crowd." They paly classic rock and consist of guitar, bass and Nate on drums. Classic ONE of the best parts of hosting our All-Years reunions is watching family members gather to celebrate together while connecting with their schoolmates from across the graduating classes.
The Lednovich family will be reuniting in one week at "Together Again" the all years reunion at the Hyatt Lisle. Life has separated the seven of them geographically, so the all-years reunion is a chance for them to hold a family reunion within the reunion. "We get together so infrequently, all of us," Al Lednovich said. The Lisle Alumni Carlin Nalley Foundation is pleased to provide the perfect opportunity for the Lednovich family and all LHS alums to do the same We are still working on the details but, Lisle Elementary (pictured above) the new school on the site of the old Meadows School is confirmed for an open house.
We are waiting on Lisle schools to confirm other schools for open houses. Times and details will be shared as we learn them.
