Friday April 22, 2016 a day where Lisle Alumni share real world experience & how schooling aided their success
John Bartels, CNF Chairman“On behalf of the Carlin Nalley Foundation and the Lisle Alumni we represent, I am excited to partner with Pete Meyer and Lisle High School Career & Technical Education Department on this event. We hope that the students will benefit from hearing the personal career stories of individuals who once sat in the same classrooms a few years back. We thank Principal Jeff Howard for inviting us, and we expect that this will be the first of many opportunities for the alumni to work with the school on creative educational enrichment efforts in which Lisle alumni can serve today's students,”

LSHS/LJHS Event TeamThe Career Fair’s organizational team consists of; (top left to bottom right) Darius Bamboat, Engineering & Technology Education teacher, Julie Kuefner, FACS teacher, Scott Waibel, Business teacher from LSHS and Pete Meyer, CTE Dept. Head.
“The Career Fair piece is our effort to introduce the students to a variety of career choices and involving the Alumni is a huge bonus to making this as "real" as possible for the student of Lisle. I think having each of our presenters being a graduate of Lisle makes this a far truer to life experience for our students than any other career fair they have experienced in their education to this point,” said Pete Meyer, CTE Department Head. |

More About Reality Store-Career Fair
Lisle Senior High School is introducing a Reality Store simulation providing students with an opportunity to engage in the decision-making process during adulthood. During this half-day in school field trip, students will prepare for the simulation by making definitive life choices in areas concerning career, marriage, and children in their mid-twenties. Students will enter the gymnasium with a monthly salary corresponding to their preferred career choice and budget. The stations will correspond to the real life decisions all adults face. Students will face an array of choices in areas such as housing, transportation, and leisure. They will have money corresponding to their decisions deducted from their account at each station. The ultimate goal of this exercise is to develop a monthly budget without going bankrupt.

We look forward to assisting students in the exploration of real life decisions and situations and hope you encourage your child to do the same. Once again, we thank you for your assistance in this simulation.
Sincerely,
The CTE Department
