“Sixty Years and Going Strong”. That’s the theme for this years’ “Alumni Weekend”. LSHS held its 60th and 61st commencement exercises since the last Alumni Night in 2017. This year a pair of events will bring alums together to celebrate our school’s history and the accomplishments of Lion teams that made it to the state finals.
ALUMNI NIGHT Friday night, October 11, the Lisle Lions take on the Coal City Coalers at Benedictine University. The Sophomore game kicks-off at 5 pm, the varsity clash follows at approximately 7 pm. Between games and at halftime, the Nalley Foundation will honor all of the teams who have qualified for a trip to the Illinois State Championships five years ago or more, highlighted by the boys’ soccer and baseball teams who brought home state titles within the past decade. This year the Nalley Foundation will celebrate Alumni Night Veteran Ceremonies
An important and emotional tradition will continue on Alumni Night 2019 as the Nalley Foundation and the Marching Lions recognize all LSHS alums who served or are currently serving in the US military. The colors are brought into the stadium, leading an honor parade of all veterans in attendance including non-LSHS alum. The veterans will join their individual groups as the Marching Lions play the theme from each of the five branches. A rousing tribute and a source of pride for alums and spectators alike. A small group of military alums and alums whose parents served in WWII and Korea will present the colors at mid-field A roll call of the five LSHS alums who made the ultimate sacrifice will be read, followed by the playing of Taps, then a moment of silence before the National Anthem brings the tribute to a close. The Nalley Foundation asks that all military and athletic honorees try to arrive no later than 6 pm. After 6 pm, please proceed directly to the north endzone area (scoreboard end) as the start of the ceremonies depends upon the progress of the Sophomore game. There will be a special information table at both entrances with all the assembly times, locations and details. The Carlin Nalley Foundation board is proud to honor each team member and all military persons in attendance. Please spread the word to help make the night even more memorable |
