Lisle School District 202 supporters and golfers, Your previously enjoyed golf clubs, which may be gathering dust in your garage or storage, they could find a new purpose in supporting our cause. By donating your used golf clubs, you will provide aspiring Lisle High School golfers, especially those who may not have the means to acquire new equipment, an opportunity to pursue their passion and develop their skills. Whether you have a complete set or individual clubs, every contribution matters and will be greatly appreciated. You can drop your donated clubs off at the Lisle Alumni Golf outing Sunday, June 25, 2023. You can also arrange for golf club donations by completing the form below. Thank you, CNF board member Nicole Urban for working with Lisle Golf Coach M. to set up this wonderful program. Meet Zoe Hynes, the 2023 recipient of the CNF Kaylee Ann Gansberg Art Award
I will be completing my bachelor’s degree at Northern Illinois University, and I am intending to study Art Education. I am most proud of making the Art Honors Society and being able to balance high school life and cosmetology school through the Technology Center of DuPage. The two teachers that I found more influential at Lisle High School were teacher Mrs. Hardy and Mrs. Derby. Both of these amazing teachers found a solid way to connect personally with their students and shift their teaching skills for each student. You know that these two teachers really care about their job and their students. I strive to balance both working in a salon and my college career, as well as making connections with my classmates and expanding my social limits. This scholarship has given me the opportunity to continue my education at NIU and persue my dream of spreading the love of art to younger generations. I intend on paying my respects to the Gansberg family by keeping their daughters memory alive through art. Meet Audrey Catuara, the 2023 recipient of the CNF Babe Zaharias Award, Outstanding Female Athlete Jones/Beato Scholarship 1. A personal achievement that I am most proud of was joining the tennis team my senior year. Deciding to start something new so late in my high school career was the greatest decision I could have made. I met so many new people, found a love for tennis, and learned the importance of standing up for myself so I could play two sports during the fall season. My only regret was not joining the team sooner. A team achievement that I am most proud of was during my junior year softball season. Although we were not always the team to come out on top, we made sure to celebrate even the small successes. This team had a bond that made us have fun and still enjoy the sport because our only expectation was to continue to get better rather than to win every game and by the end of the season, there was conspicuous improvement among everyone on the team. 2. Winning the Zaharias Award and the Jones-Beato Scholarship is such an incredible honor. It validates the diligence and dedication I have put into my athletic activities and has also given me motivation to continue to work hard in my future. Most importantly, this award symbolizes my success and growth throughout my past four years at Lisle High School. 3. I would like to thank the Lisle Alumni for awarding me this Zaharias Award and supporting me in my future endeavors. This scholarship will be so incredibly helpful when it comes to paying for my college and has opened up so many more opportunities for me. I am so honored to have this recognition and I look forward to paying this honor forward in the future. Sports I have played at Lisle High School: Softball: All four years Volleyball: Freshman and Sophomore year Cheerleading: Junior and Senior year Tennis: Senior year (L to R) John Bartels, Bob Jones, Audrey Catuara, the 2023 recipient of the CNF Babe Zaharias Award, Outstanding Female Athlete Jones/Beato Scholarship recipient, Rick Beato, & Jay Grochowski during the 2023 LHS athletic banquet.
Meet Casey Rosenberg, the 2023 recipient of the CNF Piccolo Award: Lisle’s Outstanding Male Athlete Carlin Nalley Scholarship a. I am attending Benedictine University and studying Sports and Exercise Science b. I am proud of being a student ambassador in my junior and senior years. I am proud of being a 3-sport athlete all 4 years. I am proud of being a state qualifier 2 years in a row for track and field-Triple Jump. c. Mr. Smith was a big influence on me because he was a great teacher, but also a great person to me. He sent me about 3 paragraphs talking about my final basketball game and he made me feel extremely good about myself and my basketball ability. He also showed me how to be serious, but still fun at the same time. Another influence is Officer Louis because he also talked to me about my sports, even when I told him it went bad or that he saw it didn't go well. He was always there to talk to me about everything and we'd always greet each other in the morning before school. Finally, my two basketball coaches Coach Klepadlo and Coach Weber were big influences because I was able to build a strong relationship with Coach K freshman year as he came in new, and it continued throughout high school. Then my senior year Coach Weber came in new, and we built a strong relationship as well in a small amount of time. I am very close to both of them, and I love them both, they are always there for me on good and bad days and they always helped me out and were there to talk to when I needed. d. I would like to thank the Lisle Alumni Foundation for awarding me this award. This meant so much to me and my mom and it was very unexpected for me. This money helps a lot and it makes me feel very good that my athletic ability is recognized. I can't thank you all enough for giving me this amazing award and I am very proud to be a part of the Lisle Alumni Foundation. Thank you so much!
