Meet Casey Rosenberg, the 2023 recipient of the CNF Piccolo Award: Lisle’s Outstanding Male Athlete
Carlin Nalley Scholarship
a. I am attending Benedictine University and studying Sports and Exercise Science
b. I am proud of being a student ambassador in my junior and senior years. I am proud of being a 3-sport athlete all 4 years. I am proud of being a state qualifier 2 years in a row for track and field-Triple Jump.
c. Mr. Smith was a big influence on me because he was a great teacher, but also a great person to me. He sent me about 3 paragraphs talking about my final basketball game and he made me feel extremely good about myself and my basketball ability. He also showed me how to be serious, but still fun at the same time. Another influence is Officer Louis because he also talked to me about my sports, even when I told him it went bad or that he saw it didn't go well. He was always there to talk to me about everything and we'd always greet each other in the morning before school. Finally, my two basketball coaches Coach Klepadlo and Coach Weber were big influences because I was able to build a strong relationship with Coach K freshman year as he came in new, and it continued throughout high school. Then my senior year Coach Weber came in new, and we built a strong relationship as well in a small amount of time. I am very close to both of them, and I love them both, they are always there for me on good and bad days and they always helped me out and were there to talk to when I needed.
d. I would like to thank the Lisle Alumni Foundation for awarding me this award. This meant so much to me and my mom and it was very unexpected for me. This money helps a lot and it makes me feel very good that my athletic ability is recognized. I can't thank you all enough for giving me this amazing award and I am very proud to be a part of the Lisle Alumni Foundation. Thank you so much!
