I will be completing my bachelor’s degree at Northern Illinois University, and I am intending to study Art Education.
I am most proud of making the Art Honors Society and being able to balance high school life and cosmetology school through the Technology Center of DuPage.
The two teachers that I found more influential at Lisle High School were teacher Mrs. Hardy and Mrs. Derby. Both of these amazing teachers found a solid way to connect personally with their students and shift their teaching skills for each student. You know that these two teachers really care about their job and their students.
I strive to balance both working in a salon and my college career, as well as making connections with my classmates and expanding my social limits.
This scholarship has given me the opportunity to continue my education at NIU and persue my dream of spreading the love of art to younger generations. I intend on paying my respects to the Gansberg family by keeping their daughters memory alive through art.
