1. A personal achievement that I am most proud of was joining the tennis team my senior year. Deciding to start something new so late in my high school career was the greatest decision I could have made. I met so many new people, found a love for tennis, and learned the importance of standing up for myself so I could play two sports during the fall season. My only regret was not joining the team sooner. A team achievement that I am most proud of was during my junior year softball season. Although we were not always the team to come out on top, we made sure to celebrate even the small successes. This team had a bond that made us have fun and still enjoy the sport because our only expectation was to continue to get better rather than to win every game and by the end of the season, there was conspicuous improvement among everyone on the team.
2. Winning the Zaharias Award and the Jones-Beato Scholarship is such an incredible honor. It validates the diligence and dedication I have put into my athletic activities and has also given me motivation to continue to work hard in my future. Most importantly, this award symbolizes my success and growth throughout my past four years at Lisle High School.
3. I would like to thank the Lisle Alumni for awarding me this Zaharias Award and supporting me in my future endeavors. This scholarship will be so incredibly helpful when it comes to paying for my college and has opened up so many more opportunities for me. I am so honored to have this recognition and I look forward to paying this honor forward in the future.
