I would like to thank you for everything the Carlin Nalley foundation has done for me.
1: This Fall I will be attending Nova Southeastern University where I will major in Marine Biology and minor in Research Studies and Scientific Diving
2: Of all my accomplishments at Lisle High school, the ones I am most proud of include earning Academic Excellence, becoming an Illinois State Scholar, and helping the math team to achieve over a decade of continuous conference championships.
3: My most influential teacher was Mrs. Wallenberg/Derby. She always tried to go beyond the textbook and make every class not only educational but enjoyable. No matter how my day was going or what mood I was in, I could always count on her class to make it better. Mrs. Wallenberg expects the best out of all her students and challenged me to reach my potential every day. Even when I faltered she was there to pick me up and continued to push me to succeed. Along with Mrs. Wallenberg teachers such as Mrs. Hozel, Mr. Lascala, Srta. Renguso, Mr. Bamboat, and Mr. Jaegle, have all greatly impacted my education and have helped me to reach where I am today.
4: After completing my bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University I plan to obtain both a master’s and doctorate degree in the field of marine biology. While continuing my education I hope to conduct research pertaining to the conservation of sharks, rays and their ecosystems in South Florida.
5: I am incredibly thankful for the Alumni’s generosity and am incredibly honored to have received both the Mulcare and Grutzmacher scholarships. Since I am the third generation of my family to become Lisle Alumni, your commitment to students like me is very special and I am very grateful for all that you do. The support that these scholarships will provide will help me to achieve my goals of not only attending graduate school but helping others and nature as well. I am beyond grateful for all that the Carlin Nalley foundation and the Lisle Alumni have done for me and I hope to pay it forward as I continue onward.
Thank you once again,
Tyler Anderson
