This prestigious scholarship recognizes Citlaly’s achievements, leadership potential, and passion for art. We are confident she will continue to represent the Lisle community with distinction in her next chapter.
We asked Citlaly for her thoughtful responses to the following questions:
CNF: Following graduation, what are your educational plans—where do you intend to enroll, and what will be your major field of study?
CA: I plan to attend the College of DuPage in the fall, majoring in pre-law studies.
CNF: Which teachers or staff members at Lisle High School had the most significant impact on you, and what made them so influential?
CA: Both Mr. Eric Woyna and Mrs. Hardy, have made the greatest impact in my learning path as well as in my personal journey they both always showed interest in learning more about my outside school hobbies like art they both pushed me in their own ways and never let me think that I wasn’t capable of accomplishing something and never failed to make me feel talented in my art journey, as well as always giving me as much time out of their day as I needed to make sure that I understood the material given to me.
CNF: What personal and professional goals do you aim to achieve after you reach your next academic milestone?
CA: I plan to focus on figuring out what type of law I plan to pursue in the future, and then go on to receive my bachelor’s degree and then applying to law school.
CNF: What is your best memory of your time at Lisle High School?
CA: My best memory at my time at Lisle High School was my late stay after school with my friends and working on my art while still having the company of my friends. As well as joining the bowling team with one of my greatest friends and finding out how much I actually liked bowling.
CNF: Finally, please express to the alumni what winning the award means to you and how it will assist you in accomplishing your goals. Alumni have contributed over $300,000 to the CNF scholarship program in the last 20 years. We want to relay your gratitude for their support.
CA: Receiving this award has meant the world to me because not only has it been a great financial relief for my family but it has also given me the the change to continue to accomplish my dreams and my passions, as well as being a great reminder of all the hard work that I have put into my art as well as onto all my other work. I am extremely grateful to have been chosen to be awarded this scholarship and to be able to but this money to great use.
