What is a Wine Pull? (General Description)Also known as a wine grab or cork pull, a wine pull is typically set up, so a guest pays from $15 to $25 to bring home a mystery bottle of wine. The actual value of the bottle could range from $20 to more than $100. The bottles are pre-wrapped, so the label doesn’t show, and all bottles are displayed together on a table or in an attractive wine wall display. To ensure everyone has a fair chance to win big, guests can choose their own pre-wrapped bottles, or you can create a basket of numbers for guests to draw from that correlate to bottle numbers.
We are looking to acquire 100 bottles of wine for the Wine Pull. If you could help us out in any way that would be very much appreciated If we have 100 bottles and each bottle goes for $25 at the Reunion, we will raise $2,500. I appreciate you thinking about donating to us. Below is the copied text from Rachel's earlier email with the details of the minimum value for the donation. We will take one bottle, one case or more. You can reach out to her or myself. Accepting $20+ Wine Bottle Donations! During the reunion, we plan to host a Wine Pull, which will serve as a fundraiser for the Foundation. Attendees can purchase a ticket to participate in the wine pull for $25 and will select a wrapped bottle of wine which will be guaranteed to be worth between $20 - $100+, meaning everyone who participates is a winner! In order to make this fundraiser a success, we are asking for wine donations of bottles that are worth at least $20 or more. If you are able and willing to donate a bottle(s) or know of other alumni/friends willing to donate a bottle(s), please feel free to respond to this email or call/text Rachel Birkley directly at (630) 607-2077, so we can coordinate a day/time for drop-off.
At the reunion, we plan to display various forms of Lisle memorabilia in the "Lisle Museum". If you have any Lisle memorabilia, including band uniforms, yearbooks, letterman jackets, graduation caps, sportswear, prom dresses, etc., that you would be willing to LOAN the Foundation for the AY5 display, please let me know by responding to the form.
The Call me Jo Band (www.callmejoband.com) has been inked to open “Together Again”, the All-Years Reunion on Saturday, October 15 at the Hyatt Regency- Lisle. The band takes the stage for a two-hour gig in the expansive Hyatt among a throng of Lisle alums and their guests
That’s “fellow” alums. Celebrating his fiftieth high school reunion with his LSHS classmates while leading his bandmates is Ken Modaff (’72). He is the oldest of the uber-talented and musical Modaff family (Lisle’s Von Trapp family) and still playing after all these years. Rumor has it, a sibling or two of Ken’s may join him for a number or two or more during the gig. Ken is excited to be part of “Together Again” and will have the place rocking for a couple hours starting at 6:30 as partygoers arrive and the libations begin to flow. But Ken isn’t the only band member with ties to LSHS. Lead singer Stefanie Brinegar is mom to twins Josie and Justin Brinegar who graduated from Lisle in 2018. Powerful vocals, Stefanie can flat-out sing from Benatar to Pink, the Stones to Journey and much, much more. Following Call me Jo Band a DJ will rock the reunion until midnight, the party rolling until the lights come up at 2 am.
We’ve fielded requests, offers to help, and suggestions from the past all-years reunions and created a menu of options for “Together Again”, the fifth all-years reunion taking place on October 15 at the Hyatt Regency-Lisle.
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology and on-line registration we’re able to expand our offerings to better fit the wishes of attendees. Here’s a breakdown, a nice menu of options for all partygoers. THREE TICKET OPTIONS (Each drink ticket is good for mixed drinks, beer, or soda pop)
TWO SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS GOLD
A big thank you to each of you and especially those who choose to give that little extra in the form of sponsorship. See you October 15! What to expect when you walk into "Together Again" Lisle reunion Saturday Oct. 15, 2022, at 5:308/17/2022
It starts with live music!
When check-in begins at 5:30 for “Together Again”, Ken Modaff’s (’72) “Call Me Jo” band will be warming up. At six p.m. the music and the fun begin. Instant atmosphere. The Lisle Alumni Carlin Nalley Foundation is so pleased to present our fifth “All-Years” reunion and the Hyatt Regency-Lisle is the perfect spot to host such an immense, loud, fun, and long-overdue party. Call Me Jo will play for a solid two hours then after a short break; DJ Marc Poise takes over and plays hits that span the decades. The main ballroom will rock from six p.m. until midnight. For those looking for a quieter spot to talk, joke and catch up with fellow alums and their guests, three large rooms, an enormous number of common areas and a full party tent will provide plenty of space and lack of decibels to catch up on life. Throughout the night there’s snack food, a late-night food roll-out, drinks, a pair of specialty drinks, and non-alcoholic refreshments to make sure everyone is covered. Too much consumption? The Hyatt has a room rate of $109 for LHS partygoers. Stay all night (the party ends at 2 a.m.) and stagger to the elevator. The safest and cheapest public transportation. Along with the music, drinks, and food, there’s a photo booth, wine pull, LHS museum items, and more. Plus, hours of catching up with the people from our small town and close-knit high school days. You simply can’t miss it. The Nalley Foundation is proud of our work and proud to bring all of us together. Sixty-Four years of LHS graduates and their guest make this format so incredibly unique and special. The most common response we get from first-time attendees is “I can’t believe I almost blew this off.” See you Saturday, October 15 at “Together Again”, the fifth “All-Years” reunion. A variety of ticket options, costs, and registration details can be found at www.carlinnalleyfoundation.org. The Foundation worked hard to present options that makes the night incredibly affordable and fits all budgets and wishes. Your attendance is the most important thing to the Nalley Foundation board. You…and we…will be so glad you joined in. Please spread the word. by, Jay Grochowski, Class of 1977 |
